Akhal-Teke and Iberian Horse Workshop

On San Juan and Whidbey Islands September 19th - Sept 25th 2019

Don't miss out on this week long Equine Adventure Workshop on the San Juan Islands off the coast of Washington state, where we will photograph the exotically beautiful, and versatile Akhal-Teke horse; arguably the oldest surviving cultured equine breed in the world, plus an outstanding variety of Iberian horses. I have also scheduled a day on a privately chartered boat to photograph Humpback and Orca whales.

I will pick everyone up at 12:00 noon on September 19th at any hotels offering shuttles from SeaTac Airport. It would be best to fly in the day prior to help our departure go smoothly. I would suggest one of the following hotels; Hampton Inn and Suites Seattle Airport, Country Inn & Suites by Radisson or the Double Tree by Hilton. We will travel by van to Whidbey Island and check into our hotel. We will have a group dinner that evening. Our hotel is in the heart of Oak Harbor a vibrant, historic waterfront town, within walking distance of shoping and dining.
We will begin photographing at sunrise the next morning. There will be 2 photographic sessions each day (the 20th & 21st) with a mix of Iberian horses. We will photograph the horses at liberty, in the forest, next to and in a pond, and by a lovely Spanish barn. One session will be a costume themed shoot if we get some early morning fog.

Sunday Morning September 22nd after breakfast and checking out of our hotel we will make the short drive to Anacortes taking the ferry to Friday Harbor on San Juan Island. After checking into our hotel, mid-afternoon will be at your leisure. I will be available to those that have questions about Photoshop, business or marketing. We will depart the hotel at 2:30 pm for our sunset private whale watching cruise. While whales are our prime subject we will watch for dolphin, sea otter, harbor seals and bald eagles as we cruise the water.

The 23rd & 24th will be spent photographing the captivating and rare Akhal-Teke horse, at liberty, with and without traditional jewelry and tack. We have 64+ acres of amazing land to utilize as well as trip to the beach for fun in the surf and sand.

Wednesday the 25th of September we will check out of our hotel after breakfast for our ferry ride back to the mainland. I will drop everyone off either at the airport or one of the hotels.
